About this banknote
The Bank of Estonia (Eesti Pank) issued the 25-krooni banknote in 1991 as part of the reintroduction of the Estonian kroon following the country's regained independence. This banknote, cataloged as Pick 73, was printed by De La Rue and features the signatures of Siim Kallas, President of Eesti Pank (1991–1995), and Raimund Hagelberg, Board Member (1990–1998).
The front of the note displays a portrait of writer Anton Hansen Tammsaare (1878–1940) at the center-left, with a boggy landscape in the background. The reverse side features the North Tammsaare Farm in Vargamäe, the birthplace of Tammsaare. The banknote measures 140 x 70 mm and includes a watermark of three lions.
