The Narodowy Bank Polski issued this 20 zlotych commemorative banknote on March 19, 2009, to mark the 200th anniversary of Frédéric Chopin's birth. This release was part of a series of commemorative issues celebrating significant Polish figures and events.
The obverse features a steel-engraved profile portrait of Chopin at the center, his birthplace in Żelazowa Wola to the left, and a fragment of the Mazurka in B-flat major (Op. 7) on the right, with his facsimile signature below.
