Banknote description
The front side design features black, gray-violet, and deep green colors on a multicolored underprint, similar to note #65. The note includes a wide security thread measuring 4mm and indicates the renumbering of the Egypt 2014-2017 Issue with dates 2.8.2016 and 10.3.2016.
This banknote is printed on paper and measures 155 x 70 mm. Tarek Hassan Amer's signature appears on the note. The printing office is the Central Bank of Egypt.

The Central Bank of Egypt issued the 20-pound banknote (Pick 74) in 2024 as part of its ongoing series to enhance security features and update designs. This series, initiated in 2013, aimed to modernize the nation's currency and incorporate advanced anti-counterfeiting measures.
The obverse of the banknote features the Mosque of Muhammad Ali, also known as the Alabaster Mosque, located in Cairo's Citadel. The reverse side displays a depiction of Ramesses II in a war chariot, along with bas-relief carvings from the Chapel of Sesostris I at the Karnak temple. The note measures 155 x 70 mm and includes a 4-mm wide windowed security thread with demetallized "20" and the coat of arms. The watermark features Princess Nofret and an electrotype "20."
