About this banknote
The Banco de México issued the 20 pesos banknote (Pick 106b) on May 10, 1996. This series marked the removal of "EL" from the bank's title and omitted "NUEVOS" and "PAGARÁ A LA VISTA AL PORTADOR" from the design.
The obverse features a portrait of Benito Juárez on the right and the national emblem—an eagle on a cactus with a snake in its beak—at the center. The reverse depicts the Hemiciclo a Juárez monument. The note measures 129 x 65 mm and was printed by the Banco de México.
