About this banknote
The Central Bank of Turkey (Türkiye Cumhuriyet Merkez Bankası) issued the 20 Lira banknote (Pick 187) on June 24, 1974, under the law dated January 14, 1970. This series was introduced to update the national currency and remained in circulation until its demonetization on August 21, 1997.
The obverse features a portrait of President Mustafa Kemal Atatürk on the right side. The reverse depicts Anıtkabir, Atatürk's mausoleum in Ankara, along with the Turkish Men Sculpture at the Road of Lions entry.
