About this banknote
The Bank of Ghana issued the 20 cedis banknote (Pick 40f) on July 1, 2015. This note was part of the 2007–2017 series, introduced to enhance security features and update designs.
The front of the note features the busts of Ghana's "Big Six" leaders: Kwame Nkrumah, Ebenezer Ako-Adjei, Edward Akufo-Addo, Joseph Boakye Danquah, Emmanuel Odarkwei Obetsebi-Lamptey, and William Ofori Atta. It also displays the Independence Arch in Accra and the national coat of arms. The reverse side depicts the Supreme Court building in Accra.
