The Bank of Ghana issued the 2 cedis banknote (Pick 18d) on March 6, 1982. This release was part of a series introduced between 1979 and 1982, with previous issues dated February 7, 1979; January 2, 1980; and July 2, 1980.
The front of the note features a left-facing bust of a schoolgirl on the right side and a star at the center. The reverse depicts two workers tending plants. The watermark consists of an eagle's head above a star. The note measures 143 x 67 mm and was printed by Thomas De La Rue & Co.
