About this banknote
The Bank of Ghana issued the 2 cedis banknote (Pick 18b) on January 2, 1980, as part of its 1979–1982 series. This series was introduced to replace earlier notes and to update the currency designs.
The obverse features a front-left facing bust of a schoolgirl at the right and a star at the center. The reverse depicts two workers tending plants at the center. The watermark consists of an eagle's head above a star. The note measures 143 x 67 mm and was printed by De La Rue, London.
