About this banknote
The Central Reserve Bank of Peru issued the 1,000 soles de oro banknote (Pick 105a) on June 20, 1969. This series was introduced to replace the previous 1,000 soles de oro note (Pick 98) due to a typographical error in the spelling of "Bolognesi" on the earlier issue.
The obverse features portraits of Miguel Grau on the left and Francisco Bolognesi on the right, with the Peruvian coat of arms centered between them. The reverse displays a depiction of Machu Picchu. This note measures 155 x 65 mm and was printed by Thomas De La Rue & Co.
