About this banknote
The Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (Banco Central de la República Argentina) issued the 100 pesos banknote (Pick 302) between 1976 and 1978. This series was introduced during a period of economic transition, replacing earlier currency designs.
The obverse features a portrait of General José de San Martín on the right side. The reverse depicts the coastline at Ushuaia, located in Tierra del Fuego. The banknote measures 155 x 75 mm and includes the Argentine coat of arms as a watermark. There are two varieties: Pick 302a without colored threads in the paper and Pick 302b with colored threads. Both varieties have signature differences and were printed by Casa de Moneda de la Nación.
