About this banknote
The Bank of Spain issued the 100 pesetas banknote on August 15, 1928. This series was printed by Bradbury Wilkinson and Company in the United Kingdom. The banknote was signed by Carlos Vergara Cailleaux (Governor), Adolfo Castaño Orejón (Comptroller), and Bonifacio Burgos Delgado (Cashier).
The front of the banknote features a portrait of Miguel de Cervantes on the left and the monument to Cervantes in Madrid's Plaza de España at the center. The reverse displays Luis Menéndez Pidal's painting "Encuentro de Don Quijote con los Duques." The watermark is a profile of Miguel de Cervantes.
