About this banknote
The Banco Central de Chile issued the 100 escudos banknote in 1962, as part of the country's transition to the escudo currency, which replaced the old peso at a rate of 1 escudo = 1000 pesos. This series was printed by the Casa de Moneda de Chile and features the signature of Manuel Rengifo Cardenas.
The obverse of the banknote displays a portrait of Manuel Rengifo Cardenas on the right side.
