About this banknote
The Bank of Poland (Bank Polski) issued the 10 Złotych banknote on July 20, 1929, as part of its post-stabilization currency series. This series was introduced to replace earlier notes following the hyperinflation of the early 1920s.
The obverse features two allegorical female figures: one on the right wearing a wreath of flowers and holding a lyre, and another on the left holding a book. The reverse depicts three standing figures: a woman holding a ship, a woman with a sheaf of grain and a sickle, and a man with a hammer on his shoulder. The watermark presents the head of King Bolesław I Chrobry with the denomination "10 ZŁ" beneath.
