About this banknote
The National Bank of Denmark (Danmarks Nationalbank) issued the 10 kroner banknote in 1957 as part of a series introduced in 1954. This series featured portraits of notable Danes on the obverse and Danish landscapes on the reverse, a design collaboration between architect Gunnar Biilmann Petersen and illustrators Gunnar Andersen and Ib Andersen.
The obverse of the 1957 10 kroner note displays a portrait of author Hans Christian Andersen, accompanied by an illustration of white storks in a nest. The reverse features an image of Egeskov Windmill on the island of Funen. This banknote measures 125 x 71 mm and was demonetized on 31 May 2025.
