About this banknote
The Norges Bank issued the 10 kroner banknote in 1943 during the German occupation of Norway in World War II. This series was introduced to address the need for currency under occupation conditions.
The obverse features portraits of Wilhelm Frimann Koren Christie (1778–1849) on the left and Peter Wessel Tordenskiold (1690–1720) on the right, with ornamental designs and guilloches.
