About this banknote
The Banco Nacional Ultramarino issued the 10 centavos banknote in Mozambique in 1920. This series was introduced to facilitate everyday transactions in the Portuguese colony following the economic demands of the post-World War I period.
The front side features ornate designs with the denomination "DEZ CENTAVOS" and the bank's name. The reverse displays a central motif of the denomination "10 CENTAVOS" with decorative flourishes. This note, identified as Pick 62, is red and cream and was part of the early 20th-century colonial currency issues.
