About this banknote
The Bank of Ghana issued the 10 cedis banknote (Pick 39e) on July 1, 2014, as part of the third cedi series introduced in 2007. This series was implemented to address the depreciation of the previous currency and to simplify transactions by redenominating the cedi.
The front of the note features portraits of Ghana's "Big Six" leaders: Kwame Nkrumah, Ebenezer Ako-Adjei, Edward Akufo-Addo, Joseph Boakye Danquah, Emmanuel Obetsebi-Lamptey, and William Ofori Atta. It also displays the Independence Arch, the national coat of arms, and a star. The reverse side depicts the Bank of Ghana building. The note measures 145 x 71 mm and was printed by De La Rue. It bears the signature of Dr. Henry Kofi Wampah, who served as the Governor of the Bank of Ghana from 2013 to 2016.
