About this banknote
The Bank of Ghana issued the 10 cedis banknote on March 6, 2013, as part of the 2007–2017 series. This series was introduced to commemorate Ghana's 50th anniversary of independence in 2007.
The front of the note features the Independence Arch in Accra's Independence Square, inscribed with "Freedom and Justice, AD 1957," alongside portraits of the "Big Six" leaders of the United Gold Coast Convention: Dr. Ebenezer Ako-Adjei, Edward Akufo-Addo, Joseph Boakye Danquah, Kwame Nkrumah, Emmanuel Obetsebi-Lamptey, and William Ofori Atta. The reverse depicts the Bank of Ghana building, palm trees, and a stockpile of gold bars. The note measures 145 x 71 mm and is signed by Dr. Henry Kofi Wampah, who served as Governor from April 4, 2013, to 2017.
