About this banknote
The People's Bank of the Russian Socialist Federative Soviet Republic (RSFSR) issued the 1 ruble banknote in 1919, following the Council of People's Commissars' decree on February 4, 1919. Initially distributed by the People's Bank, issuance continued under the Budget and Settlement Department of the People's Commissariat of Finance after the bank's dissolution, as per the January 19, 1920 decree.
The obverse features the RSFSR emblem centrally, with the denomination "1 ruble" along the borders. The reverse displays multicolored guilloché patterns with an ornate value inscription. Printed using the Oryol Seal technique developed by Ivan Ivanovich Orlov, this note was demonetized on November 1, 1922, following the June 28, 1922 decree.
