The Banco Nacional de Cuba issued the 1 peso banknote (Pick 102) in 1969 as part of a series introduced in 1967. This series was printed by Státní Tiskárna Cenin in Czechoslovakia.
The obverse features a portrait of José Martí at the center, with the denomination "UN PESO" to the left. The reverse depicts Fidel Castro, Camilo Cienfuegos, and rebels entering Havana on January 8, 1959. The banknote measures 150 x 70 mm and was demonetized on July 1, 2003.
