The Cuban Treasury issued the 1 Peso Silver Certificate (Certificado de Plata) in 1945, signed by President Ramón Grau San Martín. This series was part of the silver certificates introduced in 1934, which were redeemable for silver and circulated until the early 1950s.
The obverse features a black and blue design with a portrait of José Martí at the center, encircled by an olive wreath. The reverse displays the Cuban coat of arms at the center. These notes were printed by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing in the United States.
