About this banknote
The Bank of Spain issued this 1 peseta banknote on October 12, 1937, during the Spanish Civil War. Printed by Coen & C. Banconote in Milan, Italy, the note was part of the Nationalist faction's currency issuance from their headquarters in Burgos.
The obverse features the coat of arms of King Charles III of Spain on the left, with intricate geometric designs in violet and light blue. The reverse displays similar geometric patterns in purple and brown hues. A total of 30,000,000 notes were produced, spanning series A to F.
