About this banknote
The Sveriges Riksbank issued the 1 krona banknote in 1914, with this series remaining in circulation until 1940. This issuance coincided with the suspension of the Scandinavian Monetary Union's gold standard at the onset of World War I, leading Sweden to introduce new banknotes to meet domestic currency needs.
The front of the banknote features the crowned and supported national coat of arms at the top center, printed in black on a green underprint. Measuring 120 x 70 mm, the note was demonetized on December 31, 1987.
