About this banknote
The Bahrain Monetary Agency issued the one dinar banknote in 1973. This series was introduced following the establishment of the Bahrain Monetary Agency in the same year, which took over the role of managing currency from the Bahrain Currency Board. The introduction marked Bahrain's monetary independence and control over its currency.
The front side of the banknote features a dhow, a traditional sailing vessel, and a depiction of Bahrain's map alongside the national emblem.
