The Banque de France issued the 50 francs Quentin de La Tour banknote in 1976, with circulation commencing on April 4, 1977. This series replaced the previous 50 francs Racine note and was eventually succeeded by the 50 francs Saint-Exupéry.
The obverse features a portrait of Maurice Quentin de La Tour on the right, with the Palace of Versailles in the background. The reverse displays another portrait of Quentin de La Tour on the left, accompanied by the Town Hall of Saint-Quentin. The banknote measures 150 x 80 mm and was demonetized on November 30, 2005.
