Описание банкноты

🧾 Obverse (Front)

At the top of the note are two oval embossed medallions, similar to those used on the 1769 assignats, but slightly more elongated, measuring approximately 36 × 50 mm.

The obverse bears the printed text:
“I declare that this state assignation shall be paid …”

Below are the signatures of the governor (manager) and one of the cashiers.

🔁 Reverse (Back)

In the center appears the text “Сов. пр. б.” along with a handwritten signature.

💧 Watermark

When held to light, the coats of arms of four Tsardoms are visible:

Astrakhan
Kazan
Siberia
Moscow

Decorative inscriptions run along the borders:

Top — “LOVE FOR THE FATHERLAND”
Bottom — “ACTIONS FOR ITS BENEFIT”
Left — “STATE TREASURY”
Right — “TWENTY-FIVE RUBLES”

⚠️ Features

All four corners of the note are cut.

In the 18th–19th centuries, many people were illiterate, so denominations were distinguished by shape.
The 25 rubles note was printed on white paper with cut corners, making it easily recognizable by touch and appearance.
