The National Bank of Poland (Narodowy Bank Polski) issued the 10 zlotych banknote on May 15, 1946. This release was part of the post-World War II effort to stabilize the Polish economy and currency system.
The obverse features the Polish national emblem, the White Eagle, at the upper center, surrounded by ornamental designs in red-brown on a green and gold underprint. The reverse continues the ornamental motif without additional imagery. The banknote measures 126 x 68 mm and was printed by the Polish Security Printing Works (Polska Wytwórnia Papierów Wartościowych S.A.) in Warsaw. It was demonetized on November 8, 1950.
