Об этой банкноте
The Assignation Bank of the Russian Empire issued the 100 ruble banknote in 1779 as part of the Assignation Banknotes series (1769–1785). This series was introduced following the decree by Empress Catherine II on January 1, 1769, to alleviate the shortage of silver currency by introducing paper money.
The front side of the 100 ruble note features three serial numbers located at the center, lower left, and lower right. The banknote measures 250 mm in height and 190 mm in width. It is printed on white paper with embossed medallions and includes watermarks in the corners depicting the coats of arms of the Astrakhan, Kazan, Siberian, and Moscow Tsardoms. The inscriptions around the edges read: at the top, "ЛЮБОВЬ КЪ ОТЕЧЕСТВУ" (Love for the Fatherland); at the bottom, "ДЕЙСТВУЕТЪ КЪ ПОЛЬЗЕ ОНАГО" (Acts for Its Benefit); and on the sides, "ГДАРСТВЕННАЯ КАЗНА" (State Treasury).
