This series, introduced in 1963, included figures such as Voltaire, Racine, Corneille, and Molière. The 5 francs Pasteur note was printed from May 1966 to January 1970, with a total of 320 million copies produced.
The front of the banknote features a portrait of Louis Pasteur on the left, with the Pasteur Institute in Paris depicted on the right. The design was created by Pierrette Lambert and engraved by Gilbert Poilliot.
