Об этой банкноте

The Banque de France issued the 20 francs Claude Debussy banknote in 1980, with subsequent printings in 1995. This series was introduced to honor the renowned French composer Claude Debussy (1862–1918). The banknote remained in circulation until the adoption of the euro, with the franc ceasing to be legal tender on February 17, 2002.

The front of the banknote features a portrait of Claude Debussy on the right, with a depiction of a turbulent sea and rocks in the background, referencing his orchestral work "La Mer." The reverse side presents another portrait of Debussy, accompanied by a scene inspired by the set design for his opera "Pelléas et Mélisande," created in 1902 by Lucien Jusseaume. The note measures 140 x 75 mm and includes a watermark of Debussy's image.
