The National Bank of Poland (Narodowy Bank Polski) issued this 2 złote banknote dated March 1, 1990. Although printed, the note was not released into circulation due to concerns over its security features. In 1996, the banknotes were overprinted with "NIEOBIEGOWY" (non-circulating) and distributed to collectors.
The obverse features a mining conveyor tower in Katowice on the right and the national coat of arms on the left. The reverse displays the Battle of Upper Silesia (1921) monument on the left. The watermark consists of the national coat of arms. The banknotes were printed by Giesecke & Devrient in Leipzig, Germany.
