The National Bank of Romania (Banca Națională a României) issued the 100,000 lei banknote (Pick 58) on August 7, 1945, with subsequent releases on April 1, 1946; May 28, 1946; October 21, 1946; December 20, 1946; and May 8, 1947. This series was introduced during King Michael I's reign (1940–1947) to address the economic conditions following World War II.

The obverse features a woman with a boy on the left and a farm wife on the right. The reverse depicts two farm wives. The banknote measures 187 × 90 mm and has a continuous "BNR" watermark. It was designed by Georges Duval and engraved by Alexandru Ionescu-Iasi.
