**About this banknote**
The Latvijas Valsts Kases (State Treasury of Latvia) issued this 10 latu banknote in 1938. This series was introduced as part of Latvia's efforts to stabilize its national currency and improve economic independence during a period of financial consolidation in the late 1930s.
The front of the banknote features an intricate design with fishermen at work and the inscription "LATVIJAS VALSTS KASES ZĪME." Signatures of Ludvigs Ēķis and Jānis Skujevics are present.
