The Sveriges Riksbank issued the 1 krona banknote (Pick 32b) in 1915, as part of a series produced between 1914 and 1940. This issuance was in accordance with the law on the national coinage dated May 30, 1873, which established the gold standard for Sweden's currency.
The obverse of the banknote features the national coat of arms at the top center, with inscriptions indicating the note's value and the issuing authority. The text reads: "Sveriges Riksbank inlöser, vid anfordran, denna sedel å En Krona med guldmynt enligt lagen om rikets mynt av den 30 Mai 1873." This translates to: "Sweden's Riksbank will pay, on demand, for this note One Krona in gold coin according to the law on the national coinage of 30th May 1873." The banknote measures 120 x 70 mm and was demonetized on December 31, 1987.
